Pas Chic Chic: New Material, Digital Release and Free Download

1. We thought we would mention that Pas chic chic just finished recording close to 30 minutes of new material. We spent one week at the Hotel2Tango where we completed two new songs and an interlude. One of the two songs has existed in many different forms over the last year and a half (see "untitled" below). The material is scheduled to be released on Semprini Records early in 2010. More details about this upcoming release later this fall.

2. Semprini Records is also planning to make Pas chic chic's debut 7" available for digital download. This should happen within the next month. The two-song 7" includes an early version of Tes clichés déclenchés (the song also appears on Au Contraire). Copies of the limited edition vinyl release are still available via Semprini Records.

3. Available for download here, is a 20-minute untitled piece composed by Roger Tellier-Craig with the help of Pas chic chic's rhythmic section. The piece was commissioned by Canadian choreographer and dancer Dana Gingras for Smash Up, a multimedia dance creation which combined animated environments as well as electronic and musical collages.

1. Pas chic chic vient tout juste de terminer l’enregistrement de nouveau matériel à l’Hotel2Tango. Le groupe est resté une semaine en studio pour y enregistrer deux nouvelles pièces et un interlude (près de 30 minutes de musique). Une des deux pièces enregistrées s’est transformée considérablement dans la dernière année (ici et plus haut). Le tout sortira sur les Disques Semprini en 2010. Plus de détails suivront.

2. Les Disques Semprini proposent aussi de rendre disponible en version digitale le premier disque 7" de Pas chic chic. Les deux pièces enregistrées en 2005, dont une version de Tes clichés déclenchés qui précède Au Contraire, seront disponibles par téléchargement dans le prochain mois. Le premier 7" demeure toujours disponible ici.

3. Disponible maintenant par téléchargement: Une pièce d’un peu plus de vingt minutes composée par Roger Tellier-Craig avec l’aide de la section rythmique de Pas chic chic. La pièce a été composée dans le cadre d’une performance (Smash Up) mise sur pied par la chorégraphe Dana Gingras.

Yeeehaaaa! It’s so great to read that there’s a new album coming next year!! I hope it will be out soon, because I loved the version of Interlude you did in Paris last year. I can’t wait for a new longer one, maybe really COSMIC!

The ‘untitled’ piece for Dana Gingras is fantastic too, it is a wonderful crescendo with a beautiful sound.

Thanks! It is nice that we were able to go back in the studio and record that piece you mentioned hearing in Paris (albeit a different version). 12” also (on 45 rpm…)
